A great breakfast is what adds flavor to a stay! Guests love to enjoy delicious, freshly-prepared and beautifully presented food.
The Breakfast Host plays an integral part in our mission to Make People Happy.
To deliver a great guest experience – the Breakfast Attendant will prepare, stock and serve food and beverages, clear and clean tables and most importantly, interact with the guest at every opportunity.
While providing fresh hot food is a critical component to the breakfast experience, it is the interaction the Breakfast Host has with each guest that will make their experience more enjoyable and their overall experience memorable.
*Duties *and responsibilities * Greet and welcome all guests in an outgoing, welcoming and friendly manner.
* Converse with guests at each possible opportunity.
Serve as a hospitable host and community ambassador.
Seek feedback about the guest’s stay at the hotel.
* Prepare food and beverages for service to guests and present food on breakfast bar according to established health and presentation standards.
* Prepare hot food in small batches adequate to serve only the guests which are anticipated to be served for approximately 30 minutes at a time in order to keep food on the breakfast bar hot and fresh.
* Monitor and stock food, beverages and utensils on the breakfast bar throughout the shift ensuring there is adequate items to serve the guests.
* Keep breakfast area stocked and clean at all times during hours of breakfast service.
* Be attentive to guest’s needs.
* Clear empty plates & other trash from the table for guests as they finish eating (pre-bus) when possible.
* Clear and clean tables promptly after each guest departs the breakfast area in preparation for the next guest.
* Perform department/outlet opening or closing duties as required.
Ensure that kitchen area is clean and maintained throughout shift.
* Take action to solve guest problems/complaints and use established guidelines for any service recovery to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Work as team by communicating and coordinating with other departments to ensure excellent quality and service.
* Follow hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Immediately report any safety/service incident to the Supervisor or Manager on duty.
* Assist with other duties as assigned including placing grocery orders and cleaning in other areas of the hotel.
*Qualifications *and requirements Basic reading and writing.
Food service experience with general knowledge of food preparation and sanitation practices preferred.
*This job requires ability to perform the following:* * Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
* Stand / walk continuously up to 6 hours.
* Handling food objects; plates, trays, glasses, etc.

* Bending, stooping, kneeling.
* Being passionate about people and service.
* Communication skills are used frequently when interacting with guests, other staff and supervisors.
* Ability to comply to local laws regarding food handling .
* Reading and writing abilities are used often when placing food orders, completing paperwork, etc.
* Basic math skills are frequently used when calculating daily waste values.
* Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or holidays.
*Compensation* * Starting wage: $10 per hour * Criteria for increases * Consistently seeks opportunities to create memorable experiences and takes action to perform unexpected acts of kindness toward others – is regularly recognized in guest comments.
* Exhibits focus on food quality and cleanliness in the kitchen and breakfast area.
* Accurately completes costed waste sheet every shift and maintains waste levels at or below goal.
* Guest survey scores for breakfast related questions remain at or above the property goal.
* Miss no more than three shifts per quarter.
* A written warning received during any period disqualifies the team member from receiving the incremental increase for the quarter in which the offense occurred.
* Initial period is the training period which includes the first 90 days from the date of hire.
The next qualification period begins the 1st day of the calendar quarter following the completion of the 90 day training period.
