PRE-ENGINEERED METAL BUILDING (PEMB) WORKER
A Pre-engineered Metal Building Worker is responsible for the staging and erection of structural steel components and prefabricated metal building packages for industrial and commercial projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Read and interpret pre-engineered building drawings (blue prints)
Determine the materials required and plan the sequence of tasks
Prepare material prior to assembly
Hoisting and guiding components into place using cranes or telehandlers
Working from mobile elevated work platforms and operating them
Rig hoist and move material
Install fiberglass building insulation, metal cladding, standing seam roofs
Install insulated metal panels, windows, passage doors
Job Requirements
Consistent dependability (must have good attendance)
Reliable transportation for travel up to 75 miles to job site
Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance
Stamina to walk, stoop, kneel, reach, climb and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
Familiarity with hand & power tools (hammers, levels & squares, circular saws, impact drills)
Carry own tools (tool belt, hammer, square, level, chalk line, pry bar, etc)
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedules
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
Welding ability a plus
Layout for and placement of anchor bolts also desired
Required experience
PEMB Installation: 1 year
Required license or certification
Valid driver license
OSHA 10-hr Construction Card (will train)
