Job Summary
The Construction Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting jobsite inspections and materials testing.
The successful candidate for the Construction QC Inspector position will be responsible for ensuring various constructed elements conform to project drawings, specifications, and material standards.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
Ability to understand and interpret construction plans and specifications
Quick learning and strong communication skills
Uses a variety of technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills to document complex processes and materials and communicate with engineers, contractors, and owners
Experienced problem solvers and self-motivators
Experience working on buildings and piping systems, MEP, post tensioning, parking garages, and civil (Structures)
How You Will Make an Impact at A-Lert Construction Services
Performs a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties under general supervision
Works utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams
Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks
Reads and interprets plans and specifications
Maintains and calibrates standard equipment
Make detailed observations and gives the interpretation of results
Trains/supervises and performs complex assignments and work tasks
Attend project meetings alone without supervision
Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results
Communicates effectively with client and project teams
What it Takes to be Successful in this Role
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
5+ years relevant construction inspection, quality assurance and quality control experience on structural steel (REQUIRED), piping, and civil projects
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)
Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ACI, and/or CWI
Must have Basic Math, Calculator, and Computer Skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
Must be able to read plans and specifications
Must be able to work off shifts and overtime (six 10 hour days)
Successfully pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Criminal Background, Physical Exam, Customer Security Check, E-Verify, Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable), other assessments (if applicable)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently.
Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
Ability to climb occasionally
Pay & Benefits
The base wage or salary range for this position is$35/hour.
Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons
Per Diem $100/days worked
Ability to grow with the Company (multiple locations with opportunity for growth/advancement)
