Summary:
We are searching for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team here in Chanute, KS.
This position provides technical expertise to support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of all company manufacturing processes.
This will include technical support, project analysis, and project management support for engineering, maintenance, operations, and quality processes throughout the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following, other duties may be assigned
Develop and mature the manufacturing engineering culture and infrastructure for the company.
Technical leadership and oversight of maintenance activities, mechanical and electrical services, plant equipment, and facilities
Maintains documentation on all equipment, building, and infrastructure, such as machine manual, electrical circuit diagrams, hydraulic-pneumatic circuit diagrams, assembly drawings, and critical spare part lists
Leads all new equipment installation and related process development.
Work closely with operations departments to ensure production equipment is functioning at an optimal level through deployment of preventative maintenance program, as well as equipment optimization workshops.
Develop and implement new engineering standards, new technology, and new uses of existing technology.
Develop plant standards, technical instructions, and procedures to ensure all processes are in alignment with company expectations and quality standards
Utilizes appropriate tools and methodologies to plan resources and ensure timely completion of projects.
Participate in process improvement projects to minimize operations costs and increase efficiency, quality, and capacity.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
You will lead a cross-functional team that includes members of engineering and maintenance.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or electrical engineering
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering or related experience
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
)
Demonstrate ability to effectively build, manage, and lead a manufacturing engineering department.
Continuous Improvement, Lean Process Development, and PFMEA experience are preferred.
