LABORER
The Laborer for Jeff Asbell Excavating and Trucking, Inc.
must have verifiable experience in the construction industry, be able to work extended hours and be willing to travel.
A pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check is required of all successful candidates.
Essential Functions:
Unload tools, prepare building site materials, and set up equipment.
Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space.
Safely use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
Follow all instructions, rules and requests of the Job Supervisor, Superintendent, Division Manager and others in the chain of command.
Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials from job site.
Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly.
Report any issues or unsafe conditions.
Ensure regulated and proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn as required.
Maintain and submit accurate paperwork as requested, including but not limited to employee time and field notes.
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner while following all health and safety regulations.
Willing to work and have reliable transportation.
Work well in a team, including but not limited to understanding and communicating information clearly.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Must have construction experience
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be at least 18 years of age
BNSF, eRail, OSHA 10, and other safety trainings required but may obtain upon hire.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand on uneven surfaces.
The employee must frequently lift up to 50lbs, along with climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching and grasping.
Work Environment/Conditions:
Continuously work outside in extreme environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and wet temperatures.
