Job Summary: Purchasing coordinators manage an organization’s procurement process.
By working with internal and external stakeholders, they assist in identifying procurement needs, evaluate suppliers and vendors, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
As our purchasing coordinator you must possess strong analytical, communication, as well as an understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
In addition, this position will be able to manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on the organization’s priorities and deadlines.
It is essential that purchasing coordinators maintain quality standards and identify cost-saving opportunities, as well as keep compliance standards in place.
Duties/Responsibilities: Ambassador for Core Values and company culture.
Procurement for the needs of manufacturing Promotes importance of Personal & Business Brand that aligns with our culture and core values Manages inventory that honors and supports the company budget.
Support and maintain healthy relationships with vendors and suppliers built on vulnerability-based trust.
Holds vendors accountable to service and quality specifications of STBS/CUSA.
Regularly reports necessary information to the COO.
Maintains historical data.
Makes data driven decisions.
Timely and applicable business communication skills.
Mindset and strategy of continuous improvement.
Required Skills/Abilities: Product secured for JIT production in all market conditions.
Vendor relationships that align with the needs of the business as well as our culture.
Procurement that provides the best value material cost Contributes to and honors the culture to be an ideal team player.
Inventory that honors IAS requirements and STBS/CUSA quality standards detailed in quality manuals and adheres to budget Evaluate vendor performance and provide live time feedback for variances in expectation and performance.
Zero material shortage downtime Great navigation of our vendor capacity Facilitate regular audits and/or cycle counts to uncover inventory variances and opportunities for problem solving activities Work to issue, prioritize, and expedite purchase orders.
Understand and analyze business objectives to generate action items, schedule and deliverables using SMART or other structured goal setting structure.
Detail oriented and accurate IAS standards from quality manuals for CUSA/STBS Systematic Inventory management Microsoft Office skills MBS, Connex, ERP, Quickbooks, click-up Steel building products Budget Management Understanding of Lean concepts Communicate in a variety of ways including but not limited to voice, electronic, written, etc.
Business presentation skills Problem Solving processes Effective negotiating skills Market conditions relative to STBS/CUSA Continuous Improvement mindset Basic accounting and financial concepts Several of the knowledge and skills listed will be on the job training.
Education and Experience: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent 2+ years in procurement or Supply chain Preferred: Bachelors Degree and previous Steel or Metal Building experience a plus Physical/Environment Requirements: This position will be required to be in the plants 25% of the time.
This involves from time to time extreme heat or cold.
