Overview:
Responsible for the oversight of the training programs inclusive of assessing the effectiveness of the programs through objective measurements, providing feedback to upper management on training effectiveness, and ensuring the integrity of the training records for all employees.
Will implement consistent and measurable best practice approaches to address plant operations.
Responsibilities:
Leads the development and maintenance of the manufacturing training courses for the Ajinomoto’s Appetizer plants.
Provides leadership and direction to ensure training programs meet the needs of all plant employees.
Determines the best method(s) of training delivery for each job/topic (classroom, hands-on OJT, simulations, team exercises, mentoring, videos and computer-based training).
Ensures all training records are up to date and accurate.
Works with third-party training vendors, technical colleges, workforce development center, etc.
to acquire training resources.
Monitors and reports monthly, quarterly, and yearly on training program.
Maximizes overall training effectiveness while striving for first in class standards.
Develops and standardizes training materials.
Attends production meetings to monitor issues that may involve training.
Supports the plant’s safety initiatives by providing hands-on LOTO, Machine Guarding, PPE, etc.
training and education.
Develops and maintains a training matrix (tracker) for all employees.
Develops a cross training program and criteria.
Facilitates, organizes and manages all aspects of new hire orientation.
Drives completion for all departments and training.
Communicate with team members and management to ensure all needs are met.
Assigns and monitors Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Research & Development and HR regulatory compliance courses for sites.
Works effectively and cross functionally across all levels of organization.
Researches and incorporates new training techniques and methods to meet changing needs of the business.
Develops and implements new training materials for new equipment and processes as business grows and/or changes
Develop 30, 60, 90 day onboarding plan for all new hires.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent experience in training, education, instructional design or related field
5-7 years of training experience in a manufacturing or food processing plant environment
Experience in training analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation
Project Management Skills: ability to organize priorities and effectively manage projects
A passion and commitment to provide creative and innovative tools to help develop employee skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to make effective presentations; facilitate small-group problem solving; provide one-on-one training; give and receive constructive feedback; and work effectively with teams
Effective writing skills, oral comprehension and expression, speech clarity, and reading comprehension
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Willingness to flex work schedule to accommodate training for shift employees
Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Bilingual skills a plus
