Midcon Cables Company, a leading provider of cable and wire harness interconnect solutions for the Defense and Aerospace industry is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer at our Joplin, MO facility.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Engineer will provide technical guidance to the quality assurance department, production, engineering, customer service, and contracts.
Maintain good vendor/customer relationships while supporting all quality functions for current production and product development.
Responsible for APQP and product development requirements for new and takeover programs as required.
Lead RCCA teams to resolve any quality issues.
Summary of essential job responsibilities:
* Champion production part approval process (PPAP) and the development of customer documentation needed for compliance to requirements per the customer requirements and applicable standards.
* Manage and implement solid problem-solving methodologies as defined in “lessons learned” reporting as needed for error proofing and continuous improvement.
* Assessment in day-to-day production and preproduction quality systems to identify deficiencies and participate in resolution of issues found.
* Assist management with development of production and preproduction quality systems as needed.
* Provide trending analysis on quality issues and performance metrics in manufacturing.
* Conducts First Article part evaluations including electrical test reports to all requirements and creates the document package.
* Works under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are varied.
* Strong root cause analysis and corrective action for internal and external issues.
Quality Engineer skills
* Functional knowledge of AS9100:D and/or ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements required.
* Preferred quality experience within a Defense or Aerospace manufacturing environment
* Professional certification considered a plus (ASQ, CQE, CQM)
* Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills required.
* Ability to effectively delegate and utilize available resources for timely resolution of tasks required.
* Must possess demonstrated ability to implement change and be results focused.
* Ability to effectively coach, manage and support Team Members.
* Ability to manage significant workload including conflicting priorities.
* Bachelor's degree in Electronics, manufacturing, engineering or other relevant area preferred.
* Blueprint interpretation experience required.
* Experience with the APQP process preferred.
* Creating Flow charts, FMEA’s, and Control Plans experience preferred.
