The Grounds Technician role is responsible for maintaining the facility cleanliness and up keep of the outdoor facilities.
This includes, but not limited to, mowing, weed eating, brush hog, basic equipment maintenance, clearing over grown brush, removing trash from roadways and ditches, taking out trash and cleaning butt cans around the facility.
The successful candidate must have a passion for safety and be able to foster effective working relationships built upon trust and respect within all level of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures · Regular/dependable attendance required · Use of hand tools and machinery is required to maintain equipment and grounds · Able to work with and around moving equipment/machines · Utilize the CMMS Program · Recommend equipment upgrades and repairs when necessary · Assist in efforts of cost control including labor, material, waste, etc.
· Perform scheduled job order work, preventative maintenance · Must maintain a PIV license · Completes tasks, work orders, and projects as assigned and regularly meets deadlines · Uses organizational and planning techniques to maximize personal productivity · Weekly mowing of our facility areas as assigned · Weed eating the facility around, trees, fences and structures · Trash removal from the facility as assigned · Clearing over grown areas · Trimming of shrubs · Daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance on yard equipment · Sweeping areas of the facility as assigned · Walking the roadways and facility to remove any trash, blocks, rocks Etc.
that may impede production · Assist in snow removal and spreading of salt along slick areas and walkways ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: · Ability to rotate to other positions as needed · Support and participate in continuous improvement of the facility · Other duties may be assigned EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: · Previous grounds experience preferred · Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required · Must be 18 years or older · Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US · Some mechanical knowledge is preferred SKILLS: · Must be able to work well with little or no supervision · Basic computer knowledge · Accuracy and attention to detail · Adaptability · Time Management · Must be able to operate mobile equipment and hand tools · Ability to work with internal and external customers PHYSICAL DEMANDS · The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
· The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit · The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds · Must be able to work in everyday out door elements WORK ENVIRONMENT · The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, but can be loud in certain areas of the operation’s facilities.
