BASIC FUNCTION:
Residential Loan Officers originate first mortgage loans, promotes the financial institution and its lending services to the real estate community and helps to identify and serve the community’s financial needs through home loan counseling, real estate agent seminars and sales meetings, and by participating in and promoting the financial institution’s community activities.
The incumbent is responsible for quoting product information, rates and terms that will best suit the client’s lending needs.
Demonstrates knowledge and operates in compliance with laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and other fair lending requirements.
Teamwork is essential.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the industry in terms of laws and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act relative to his/her job responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procures Secondary market and Portfolio mortgage loans and cross selling of Bank products including home equity loans.
Informs prospective loan clients of the financial institution’s underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations.
Personally interviews loan applicants.
Completes each loan application and oversees all pre-processing functions in a timely manner to permit the good faith estimate and other required disclosures to be provided to applicants within the requested time period.
Oversees ordering of credit reports, client documents, automated underwriting systems and other information as needed on residential loan applicants.
Complies with lending regulations and bank’s underwriting guidelines and lending policies.
Determines appropriate loan programs and product types for applicants.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2-5 + Years Mortgage, sales or related experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or economics
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
