Responsibilities:
- Conduct appraisals of all real estate and personal property to determine the value of
properties within the County.
- Collect and analyze data on property characteristics, market conditions, and comparable
sales.
- Prepare detailed appraisal reports and presentations for the County Commission and
Kansas Property Valuation Division.
- Represent the County at the State Board of Tax Appeals.
- Ensure that all deadlines are met.
- Utilize financial analysis techniques to evaluate income-producing properties.
- Ensure compliance in all appraisals.
- Use GIS (Geographic Information System) technology to assist in property research and
analysis.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of County Appraisal experience and supervisory management
experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in mass appraisal of real estate.
- Experience with data collection and analysis for property valuation purposes.
Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in appraisal reports.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex appraisal concepts to taxpayers.
- Proficiency in using appraisal software and tools for data analysis.
- Familiarity with GIS technology for property research and mapping purposes.
