Financial Accounting Supervisor will be joining our Corporate Accounting team that provides accounting support to Financial Business Partners and various Lines of Business within Jack Henry.
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising an accounting team in month end close processes, balance sheet ownership/presentation, and financial reporting and analysis.
You will ensure all work is in accordance to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
A successful candidate comes with an extensive background in accounting and leadership qualities that contribute towards advancements and process improvements.
They have outstanding Interpersonal skills for leading others and business partnering.
This position will be filled to work in a hybrid capacity and will require you to come to one of the following Jack Henry office locations at least 1 day a week: Allen, TX, Lenexa, KS, Springfield, MO, or Monett, MO.
What you'll be responsible for: Review and oversee work submitted by accountants and manage accounting close processes and activities related to month-end, quarter-end, and/or year-end closings.
Oversee and review the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations that tie to our general ledger balances with variances researched and timely resolved, and analysis and reporting.
Provide staff guidance in best practices or in escalation of questions and concerns and assist managers in problem solving areas and staff work prioritization.
Staff team building, inclusion, accountability, and engagement.
Set staff performance targets, complete performance review and assessments, and may assist with hiring and firing decisions.
Ensure organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other accounting standards.
Respond to Audit or Sox control requests; review requests that are prepared by staff.
May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you'll need to have: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
A minimum of 6 years in accounting.
A minimum of 1 year with General Ledger accounting.
A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a team lead role or above.
Experience with advanced Excel formulas (XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros, IF statement).
Ability to work after hours up to 3 days per month during month-end close.
Ability to travel up to 5% to attend JH meetings, trainings, and/or professional conferences.
What would be nice for you to have: Advanced degree in Accounting.
CPA certification.
Experience with BlackLine Systems.
