Job Description Summary:
The Director of the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism is a professional responsible for the development and on-going activities required to sustain the Autism Center which include all services for children with autism.
The Director will be responsible for ensuring that the quality and quantity of services provided to the children and families referred into these services are consistent with the clinical goals and the regulatory requirements as stated in the contract between Ozark Center and the State of Missouri, as well as other third-party payers.
The Director provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals served often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment.
The Director demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery.
The Director will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received.
The Director will report directly to the Chief Clinical Officer.
Responsibilities:
Develop guidelines for the provision of services for each student including the development of a Screening, Assessment, Functional Assessment, Reinforcement Assessment, and approval for admission for each student.
This includes obtaining all necessary approvals and signatures before implementing a Behavior Support Plan.
Arrange for interviews and recommend for hire all program staff for each component of the Autism Center and provide supervision to all program staff.
Lead (or delegate) and participate in weekly staffing meetings of all services offered under the auspices of the Autism Center.
Speak at parent support groups and special events and participate in interagency councils as directed.
Maintain ongoing contact with DMH and other regulatory and payment entities and submit reports to them as required.
Submit bills to the accounting department as needed for all program components.
Regularly review written documentation to ensure compliance with documentation requirements, including making sure that 10% of each staff’s caseload is reviewed monthly and documented accordingly.
Knowledge of the community, state, and federal services available, the qualifications for each and how to access these services for qualifying clients.
Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art information on evidence-based treatment and interventions for children with autism.
Will be knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of Ozark Center, state and local laws, and licensure standards.
Perform specified administrative tasks as determined by the Chief Clinical Officer.
Physical Requirements:
Normal office environment.
Typical physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
Requires physical, sensory and cognitive abilities.
Requires ability to work under stressful conditions, work irregular hours and occasionally deal with irate individuals.
