Position Summary:
Manage the activities of the housekeeping and public areas department ensuring exceptional service for resort guests.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for interviewing, selecting, training and scheduling all housekeeping and public areas staff to ensure safe, quality and efficient operations.
Ensure that all housekeeping and public areas personnel adhere to all department procedures, rules, regulations and standards.
Monitor and develop employee performance through supervision and professional development, mentoring and evaluations, and providing recognition.
Personally inspect facilities daily, including all guest rooms and public areas.
Deliver clean rooms to the front desk on time.
Comply with and ensure compliance with lost and found and security key procedures.
Order and maintain adequate inventory of guest amenities and cleaning supplies.
Respond to all guest requests or complaints in a timely manner.
Communicate closely with front desk for all needs related to guest rooms and common areas.
Perform all administrative duties necessary to successfully manage the department.
Job Requirements:
Excellent customer service and people skills.
Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend and holiday shifts.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
Intermediate computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and hotel management systems.
Approximately 50% of the workday will be spent outdoors with intermittent time in seasonal extreme heat
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds.
Education and Experience: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 (two) years in the hospitality industry required Minimum.
2 years management experience
Resort/state park experience preferred.
