Responsibilities:
Adheres to all state licensing rules and regulations
Adheres to all program policies and procedures
Provide quality active supervision, focused attention, and caring service for the children in care
Uses best judgment to act in the best interests of the children at all times
Respond to each individual child’s needs promptly
Maintain a safe, healthy, and orderly environment which promotes active learning
Maintains daily classroom routines, including keeping appropriate records, setting up meals, etc.
Work with the children hands-on to support learning objectives
Promote harmony among the children attempting to minimize conflict, with gentle but firm guidelines and positive guidance
Exhibit good listening skills especially when conflict or discipline issues arise and problem solve professionally
Report any accidents or injuries immediately and document using incident report forms
Maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage a classroom.
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of various subjects, including math, early childhood education, special education, and childhood development.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and deliver instruction effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and with different age groups.
- Valid substitute teaching certification or willingness to obtain one.
