Cottey College, a private liberal arts and sciences institution for women, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in theatre, starting August 2024.
We seek vibrant candidates to teach a full range of courses in theatre, which can include courses such as: Theatre Appreciation, Dramatic Lit, Script Analysis, Stagecraft, Stage Makeup, Costume Design, Stage Management, Performance of Lit and Event Technology.
We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and pedagogical commitments reflect a diverse approach that acknowledges issues of gender, race, and leadership.
Required qualifications include a terminal degree in theatre.
Desired qualifications include ability to design in one of the following areas: Set Design, Costume and Makeup Design, and/or serve as Technical Director for the theatre.
Additional duties may include recruitment, support for our secondary education degree with a certification in speech and theatre, and service to the college.
The teaching load is typically four courses per semester including rotation of a course that entails directing a theatre production and mentoring student directors.
