MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bus Driver: Must have or be able to obtain Class “C” CDL with verifiable good driving record; Must
meet Missouri Automobile liability minimum requirements; Must have/or obtain current first aid/CPR
certificate.
Must pass agency background screenings.
In addition, complete at least 15 clock hours of
childcare related training each year.
We provide all training and payment to obtain CDL.
CSM: 1-3 months child care experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily, have reliable transportation and meet Missouri automobile
liability minimum requirements.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Bus Driver: The Head Start Bus Driver transports children and parents to and from the Head Start
Center on a daily basis, while helping to ensure active supervision and safety of children attending the
Head Start program.
The Bus Driver may also provide transportation to medical and dental appointments
and to other locations involved in the Head Start program.
The Bus Driver ensures compliance with
Missouri Child Care licensing requirements and state law regarding the mandatory reporting of child
abuse and neglect.
This position will perform minor preventative maintenance on their bus and maintain
records related to the operation/maintenance of the vehicle.
Head Start classes operate on a nine-month
academic year.
CSM: The Classroom Safety Monitor helps ensure active supervision and safety of children attending
the Head Start program.
