*Location : *CAN DO Senior Center, Carthage, Missouri
*Hours: *30 hours per week
*Compensation: *$14.
00/hour (raise at 90 days)
*SUMMARY*
The Head Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with a meal planner, for supervising the kitchen staff, and for being knowledgeable of health and sanitation standards.
Purchases food, maintains records, and performs other cleaning and sanitation duties.
Follows all nutrition policies as outlined by the AAAX Nutrition Program and follows required Federal & State guidelines.
Employee must be 18 years of age or older.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
1.
Prepares and serves nutritious meals following standardized recipes.
2.
Implements and follows all health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
3.
Orders, receives, and inventories all food items and supplies used in food preparation.
4.
Compiles and submits reports in a timely manner.
5.
Ensures the kitchen, storage, and serving areas are kept clean.
6.
Confers and coordinates with the Senior Center Manager and the Homebound Meal Coordinator.
7.
Other duties as assigned.
*SUPERVISOR RESPONSBILITIES*
The Head Cook supervises the kitchen staff in the center.
The Head Cook carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; and evaluating kitchen staff performance with the Senior Center Manager.
The Head Cook addresses complaints and keeps the Senior Center Manager informed about all concerns/issues.
*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS*
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
*CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS*
Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet Missouri automobile liability minimum requirement or have reliable transportation.
Must pass a Background Check.
Must have or be willing to obtain ServSafe certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat.
The employee will occasionally be in the freezer.
The employee will be exposed to cleaning chemicals.
*EXPERIENCE*
One year commercial kitchen employment preferred.
