*A Day Camp Counselor *is instrumental in making sure they provide a safe, engaging, bully-free and intentionally fun environment for our campers while implementing activities planned for the day.
*Responsibilities:*
* Supervise program participants in camp programs.
* Plan & implement program activities that are culturally relevant & developmentally appropriate.
* Maintain safety & cleanliness standards.
* Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents & staff.
* Follow YMCA policies & procedures, including those related to ACA standards, medical & disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies
*Qualifications:*
* Must be at least 18 years old.
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Must be available M-F between the hours of 6:30 am - 6:00 pm, for a 6-8 hour shift daily.
* Previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp setting.
* CPR & First Aid certifications must be obtained/maintained throughout employment.
* Must be able to pass a background check with the Missouri Department of Early Childhood and Secondary Education (DESE)
* Must be fingerprinted and receive an eligibility letter from DESE.
* Must complete a medical exam with a TB risk assessment if deemed necessary, by a medical professional within 30 days of hire.
* Must complete 6 hours of training in Child Abuse and Neglect/Childcare related training within 30days of hire
*Work Schedule:*
Days/Evenings.
Morning shifts and afternoon shifts available.
Each are 6 hours (up to 30 hours per week)
