*Program Description*
*Title:* Program Assistant
*Reports To:* Unit Director
*Primary function:*
Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating activities provided within a specific program area, such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.
*Essential Job Responsibilities:*
* Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes by promoting and stimulating program participation; registering new members, and participate in their club orientation process; provide guidance and role modeling to members.
* Employee is expected to maintain all appropriate paperwork and turn it in on time.
Paperwork includes but not limited to event reporting, attendance sheets and exception reports.
* Create programming that is fun and promotes learning
* Maintain clean program areas
* Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop in members and visitors.
* Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times.
* Prepare periodic activity reports.
* Develop and maintain a positive relationship with our members.
* Work as team member interdependently and facilitate other staff to do the same.
* Follow operational policies and procedures developed by the club.
(Emergencies-Severe weather, Fire, Health and Safety, Nutrition, staff training guidelines).
* Participate in all mandatory training and meeting of the club.
* Participate in special programs and or events.
* May be required to drive Club van.
* Perform other duties as assigned to accomplish club goals.
This could be under unusual or emergency circumstances.
*Skills/Knowledge Required:*
* Dependable and self motivated
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to be flexible in all areas
* Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
* Ability to deal with the general public.
* Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
* Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
* Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
* Valid State Drivers License.
*Qualifications:*
High School Diploma preferred.
Prefer one year experience working with children.
You must have a valid driver’s license, proof of current auto insurance.
*Physical requirements/work environment:*
As a routine part of this position staff must be able to bend, twist, stoop and kneel to perform the essential functions of the position.
