Position Purpose: The Recovery Outreach Specialist will need to be a goal-oriented professional interested in gaining experience in the behavioral health field while making a difference in the lives of tribal youth, teens, families, and elders in Ottawa County.
As a Recovery Outreach Specialist, you will increase your knowledge and awareness of alcohol and substance misuse, mental health, and other related topics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Recovery Outreach Specialist will welcome and greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls.
Sort and distribute mail and packages.
File, copy, and scan confidential documents.
Maintains an adequate inventory of all office supplies and equipment.
Maintain break room, including stocking supplies.
Assist office managers with various office meetings and events, including setting up and clean up.
Keeps waiting rooms neat, clean, and organized.
Provides coverage and assistance when necessary to maintain department quality standards.
Will work in continuous collaboration with community outreach teams.
Assists with research and provides administrative support to projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Outreach/public speaking experiences.
A High School Diploma degree or equivalent education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A willingness to self-disclose about personal recovery and wellness journey.
Agree to respect and observe the Peer Recovery Support Specialist Code of Ethics.
Work well in a team environment, be self-motivated, and be result-oriented.
Ability to communicate effectively and in writing.
Must maintain and be HIPPA-compliant.
Maintain confidentiality for all clients of the Health and Human Services Departments.
Physical ability to lift over 50 lbs.
and stand for long periods.
Assists with research and provides administrative support to projects.
Certifications: Valid Driver’s License and insurance.
CPR/First Aid/AED Certified.
Conditions of Employment: The Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma operates a drug-free workplace.
Must submit to and pass applicable drug test, TB test, and/or Physical.
Must pass background check.
Adhere to all work rules, policies & procedures, and safety standards.
Work Requirements: Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis.
Work is generally performed in an office environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
