Position Summary:
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Assistant will be responsible for supporting CI initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Essential functions of the job include providing status updates on trends, triggers, project results, and any open action items in the development and execution of system improvements.
The CI Assistant will also provide some administrative support to the Operations team to prepare daily paperwork needed on the production floor.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide technical assistance for planning, managing, and implementing process improvement initiatives
· Track project progress, timelines and milestone and communicate project status
· Utilize collected and provided data to define root cause and assist the CI Manager with problem solving initiatives
· Perform data manipulation and analysis (graphical and statistical) as required in support of performance metric reporting
· Review data and consult with leadership to propose, plan, and initiate actions to improve process efficiencies
· Assist with implementing CI focused improvement plans, support and follow-up on the transformation
· Support problem solving initiatives to support TPM culture
· Recommend steps to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of existing continuous improvement projects underway - modify, eliminate, and accelerate as appropriate
· Collect data and communicate performance metrics and escalate deviations as appropriate
· Support production leadership by collecting data and communicating performance metrics regarding resources, projects, and outcomes
· Support production by preparing daily paperwork to support efficient operations
· Prepare all required reports and correspondence
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associates Degree or some college coursework preferred
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
Experience with obtaining and working with data
Solid multi-tasking skills to switch from one project to another while keeping everything moving forward
Strong organizational skills and ability to focus on details required
Strong communication skills (reading, writing and verbal) are essential to interface with multiple stakeholders
A high level of energy and the ability to motivate a team to champion change
Must be willing to work together with co-workers as part of a team; also, must be self-motivated and
able to work with little or no supervision
