*Job Description *
*A DAY IN THE LIFE: *
* Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis.
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and recommend necessary adjustments
* Ensure compliance with U.
S.
GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy, approval authority matrix and standard operating procedure
* Support internal and external audit requirements
* Exercise sound data stewardship - following data policies (retention, privacy, security) and detailing procedures
* Drive continuous improvement and use systems to increase controls and efficiencies
* Ensure effective data security and controls within ERP, financial systems, and data flows
* Other ad hoc requests as necessary
*KEYS TO SUCCESS: *
*EDUCATION *
* An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting (required)
*EXPERIENCE *
* Prior experience in a high-volume accounting environment (AR & AP emphasis a plus) within a matrixed organization.
* Working knowledge of ERPs required, specific experience with Oracle R12 preferred\\
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES *
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel (required)
* Excellent understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls
* Excellent attention to detail, as accuracy is required in performing all aspects of the role
* Highly motivated individual with excellent communication, computer, and organization skills
* Proficient verbal and written communication skills
