The Kelce Undergraduate School of Business at Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for an Assistant Instructional Professor of Accounting & Finance, a position which is renewable on an annual basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach beginning and intermediate level accounting, finance, and analytics courses at the undergraduate levels with a twelve-hour-per-semester load per semester.
Additional teaching during the summer term may be available.
Participate in University service, provide student mentoring, make contributions to academic engagement, assist in recruitment efforts, and serve as faculty advisor for student organization(s).
Candidate should hold professional certifications in accounting or finance (such as CPA, CIA, CMA, CFA) and otherwise maintain faculty qualification consistent with an AACSB-accredited institution.
Education and Experience
Required Education and Experience – Time of Hire
Graduate degree in business, accounting, or finance (MBA, MPA, MPAcc or other graduate degree closely associated with teaching of accounting and finance) from accredited schools with an anticipated completion by July 15, 2024.
Full time employment in industry, business, government or education for a period of no less than 4 years.
Work experience should be related to accounting or finance with managerial and executive level experiences.
Preferred Education and Experience -
Earned graduate degree in business (with accounting or finance emphasis), accounting, or finance from accredited schools.
Full time employment in industry, business, government or education with professional experiences in governance, risk, compliance, internal audit for a period of at least 4 years.
Work experience should be related to accounting or finance with managerial and executive level experiences.
Maintain certification in accounting (CPA) and/or finance (CFA).
Teaching experience and record of scholarly work are highly desired.
Membership(s) in regional, state, or national associations related to teaching of internal audit (IIA membership) and accounting is (are) desired.
