Overview:
Directs the quality and resource management for areas of responsibility.
Accountable to ensure implementation of current standards of practice and care.
Works collaboratively with the physicians and other departments to achieve quality patient outcomes.
Responsible for compliance with licensing and regulatory standards.
Promotes professional nursing practice by insuring competency validation and providing ongoing clinical continuing education opportunities.
Participates in the development and implementation of strategic and business plans for areas of responsibility.
This position reports to the Executive Director of Operations at Mercy Joplin.
Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required
Licensure: Current RN or Temporary Permit/RN License in the state of practice.
Experience: Three to five years of previous experience in significant management role in nursing.
Other: Past experiences must have demonstrated leadership ability, good interpersonal skills and the ability to apply sound principles of management and supervision.
Must be proficient in use of a personal computer and must be able to analyze complex data from various information systems.
Preferred Education: Master's degree preferred.
Certification/Registration: Certification in specialty area of practice preferred.
