Summary
The primary responsibility of the Quality Technician I is to manage and contribute to identifying opportunities for improvements based on information gathered through audits, inspection and customer feedback.
The Quality Technician is also responsible for managing the customer return process and complete project work, including training of employees to established procedures, under the direction of the Quality Manager.
The position contributes to management reports and uses basic quality tools to organize it into meaningful formats.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Manage customer return activities and maintain customer return database as needed or assigned.
Familiar with measurement techniques and equipment that accompany FA and dimensional layouts.
Perform project work, product/process audits as directed by Quality Manager, including ISO internal audits.
Participate in design review, validations and verifications.
Assist in the operation and maintenance of test equipment and utilize photographic documentation for records and communication.
Train and assist other department’s personnel to product standards.
Work closely with other departments and supervisors to set standards for workmanship, under the direction of the Quality Manager.
Utilize basic quality tools to generate and format information into meaningful forms.
Must be familiar with Word, Excel, Outlook and Syteline.
Create and work with departments to maintain standard boards, under the direction of the Quality Manager.
Inspect products prior to shipment as directed by the Quality Manager.
Utilize databases to generate information and communication as needed in report format or meeting environment.
Assist with receiving inspection and calibration of gages as needed.
Participate and present in meetings with customers, suppliers, peers as needed.
Apply root cause and corrective action principles.
Perform analysis and research on customer claims and supplier product.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Competencies Problem solve with area department leaders to determine root cause and corrective measures going forward Communicate and partner with other department managers/supervisors and employees.
Proficiently use a computer and basic computer programs Experience with completing projects Inspect and calibrate gages as needed Apply root cause and corrective action principles Familiar with measurement techniques and equipment that accompany FA and dimensional layouts Experience with ISO Quality System preferred Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Syteline, and Outlook.
